The Spicewood Teaching Garden

The Spicewood Teaching Garden provides a unique learning opportunity for the students and teachers to learn more about nature, plant and animal life, the environment and more! Spicewood students take great pride in their garden and it has grown to include a sun dial, an outdoor classroom and a wooden bridge.

Sign Up to Adopt the Spicewood Teaching Garden for a Week:

This is a great opportunity for your family to be a part of this special addition to our school.  It also allows you and your family a more personal, hands-on experience in the garden.  Your weekly responsibilities will include: watering, weeding and maintaining the garden.  As a reward for volunteering, you will be able to harvest some of the vegetables/herbs that are ready for picking and enjoy them at home!

Volunteer sign-up is on a weekly basis, Sunday through Saturday, and your daily commitment will vary depending on the weather and garden needs at that time.  Detailed information will be emailed to you the week before your week begins.  You may volunteer for more than 1 week (it doesn't need to be consecutive), if you'd like.

Thank you, as always, for your support!
