Volunteer at Spicewood Elementary
Spicewood is a school that is considerably reliant on its community, with that we ask that our parents have a volunteer initiative mindset. Every parent has a talent, skill, passion, or time. We rely on those skills to help keep our students in an unique education. Where our PTA funds and runs a lot of the programs our students participate in, our teachers use, and our IB community thrives. In a typical year, each Spicewood family is asked to pledge 4 hours of your time throughout the school year. We are asking our community to donate their time, talents, and resources to our PTA and school.
This year our volunteerism may look different, but as the school progresses and needs arise we will ask our parents to step in and help fill that position. We appreciate every single volunteer and want everyone to have an opportunity to make our school the best it can be. So regardless if you have 1 hour at home to help a teacher, be on the grade level committee, or donate your time as a committee chair, your time and talents are valued by the PTA board, faculty and staff of Spicewood.
A unique feature this year that can help us track our wonderful volunteers is the Volunteer hour tracker. Anytime you spend time on Spicewood volunteering, please log those so we can show Texas PTA how amazing our community is!
In order to volunteer at Spicewood, you are required to fill out RRISD's volunteer application. This must be completed each year.

Welcome to the Spicewood Elementary PTA! Our PTA is a group of parents, caregivers, teachers, school staff, and community members who have joined together with the shared goals of advocacy, family engagement, programming for kids, and support for our school.
The Spicewood PTA was formed:
- To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, and throughout the community;
- To raise the standards of home life;
- To advocate for laws that further the education, physical and mental health, welfare, and safety of children and youth;
- To promote the collaboration and engagement of families and educators in the education of children and youth;
- To engage the public in united efforts to secure the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and social well-being of all children and youth; and
- To advocate for fiscal responsibility regarding public tax dollars in public education funding
We value collaboration, commitment, diversity, respect, and accountability. However, we cannot do this alone. The Spicewood Community needs involvement from all families in order to best support our children. Whether you choose to volunteer in a classroom, assist with an event, become a Panther Partner, or simply join as a member, you are doing your part to make Spicewood Elementary the BEST environment for growth.
