Education Background: Undergraduate Degree in Early Childhood Education from Texas Tech University; Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from UT El Paso

Where did you grow up: Right here in the Spicewood community! My parents still live over by Talleyran Park.
What is something you would like your students and parents to know about you, your personality, or your philosophy on teaching?
I think that teaching is about the relationships with students. As a teacher, I try to build strong bonds with my students and truly get to know them and their likes and dislikes.
Favorite Food (and dietary restrictions): I love sushi and Tex Mex. I don't have any restrictions, just things that I don't prefer.
Favorite Dessert: Ice Cream! But sugar cookies are a close second.
Who do you cheer for on game day? Kansas City Chiefs, San Antonio Spurs, and Texas Tech
Favorite Song or Band: Now that I have kids, I don't get to have a favorite. I listen to their music. However, could I choose, I would choose country music.
Favorite Movie: 10 Things I Hate About You
Favorite Flower: I am not the biggest fan of flowers because I don't have a green thumb. So, something that is easy to keep alive.
Favorite thing about teaching: The relationships you have with the students. They are so creative and fun at this age!
What is your favorite morning beverage? Iced Coffee with a fun creamer (ex: caramel, pumpkin spice, peppermint mocha, white chocolate); I don't like hot coffee or coffee without flavor.

Welcome to the Spicewood Elementary PTA! Our PTA is a group of parents, caregivers, teachers, school staff, and community members who have joined together with the shared goals of advocacy, family engagement, programming for kids, and support for our school.
The Spicewood PTA was formed:
- To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, and throughout the community;
- To raise the standards of home life;
- To advocate for laws that further the education, physical and mental health, welfare, and safety of children and youth;
- To promote the collaboration and engagement of families and educators in the education of children and youth;
- To engage the public in united efforts to secure the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and social well-being of all children and youth; and
- To advocate for fiscal responsibility regarding public tax dollars in public education funding
We value collaboration, commitment, diversity, respect, and accountability. However, we cannot do this alone. The Spicewood Community needs involvement from all families in order to best support our children. Whether you choose to volunteer in a classroom, assist with an event, become a Panther Partner, or simply join as a member, you are doing your part to make Spicewood Elementary the BEST environment for growth.
