Fifth Grade Promotion

 

Hi Parents,
 
We’ve had lots of questions about how to pay for the 5th grade pool party, donate to the class gift, sign the pool waiver, and how to upload a toddler photo for the 5th grade promotion reception. Below are some instructions to hopefully help you get all of this done. If you’re still having trouble, however, please let me know!
 
 
1. The pool party waiver, pool party payment, class gift donation, and CVMS shirt size selection are all on the PTA website. There is no additional charge for the CVMS shirt, by the way. It is a surprise gift to all the 5th graders on the day of promotion. 
 
 
 
2. To upload ONE toddler photo of your 5th grader, click on the link below. Please only upload ONE photo. If you upload more, all but one will be deleted without notice. 
 
 
SAVE THE DATE! Wednesday, May 22nd: Promotion Ceremony
The promotion ceremony will be held the morning of Wednesday, May 22nd, at 7:45am with a reception following. The reception will include refreshments and a slideshow and will end at 9:30am. The students will wear their 5th grade class t-shirt that they purchased for Outdoor School in the fall.

SAVE THE DATE! Thursday, May 23rd: End of Year Pool Party
A parent-sponsored pool party will be held on the last day of school, Thursday, May 23rd, from 4-6pm at the Lifetime Fitness North Location (RR 620). The students will swim, enjoy the waterslides, DJ music and have snacks, pizza, and dessert. *Please note that all students will be required to pass a 25 meter swim test in order to participate in swimming.
 
If your student would like to attend the pool party the fee is $25 per student, due by April 15th, which includes the facility fee, food, and a special surprise gift bag. To pay the fee and RSVP to the pool party please go to the PTA store on our website by clicking on “My Accounts”. You will see "5th Grade Promotion” under “New Forms”. There you will be able to pay the party fee, RSVP, and indicate your student’s t-shirt size. The included waiver from Lifetime Fitness must be signed and returned to your homeroom teacher by April 15th.

Welcome to the Spicewood Elementary PTA! Our PTA is a group of parents, caregivers, teachers, school staff, and community members who have joined together with the shared goals of advocacy, family engagement, programming for kids, and support for our school.

The Spicewood PTA was formed:

  • To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, and throughout the community;
  • To raise the standards of home life;
  • To advocate for laws that further the education, physical and mental health, welfare, and safety of children and youth;
  • To promote the collaboration and engagement of families and educators in the education of children and youth;
  • To engage the public in united efforts to secure the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and social well-being of all children and youth; and
  • To advocate for fiscal responsibility regarding public tax dollars in public education funding

We value collaboration, commitment, diversity, respect, and accountability.  However, we cannot do this alone.  The Spicewood Community needs involvement from all families in order to best support our children.  Whether you choose to volunteer in a classroom, assist with an event, become a Panther Partner, or simply join as a member, you are doing your part to make Spicewood Elementary the BEST environment for growth.
