Third Grade - Ms. Kendra Chronister
Three words to describe me: Tenacious, Energetic, Kind to others
Birthday: March 3rd
Education Background: Graduated high school from Charles M. Russell High School(2006); Graduated from Texas State with a Bachelors in Education(2017); I taught 2nd grade for 6 months in Ethiopia at the International Community School of Addis Ababa, and this is my 6th year teaching 3rd grade at Spicewood.
Pets: 2 Dogs - Millie and Lemmy
Where did you grow up: Great Falls, Montana and Missoula, Montana for first few years of college
What is something you would like your students and parents to know about you, your personality, or your philosophy on teaching?
Together we can create a fantastic year for all students in class. My primary goal is to be the teacher I needed when I was younger and partner with parents to support the needs of all students. Growing up, I fell through the cracks, struggled with reading and math from year to year, had to attend speech classes, and eventually hated school despite working my rear off to earn b's and c's. I felt stupid year after year because school never made sense to me, and I didn't have teachers that cared enough to see what I needed and were willing to work with me where I was. Since stepping into the classroom as an educator, my goal has been to show students that I am willing to work hard to meet them where they are. Together we can help them see a year's worth of growth.
Favorite Food (and dietary restrictions): Tacos and Chips and Queso
Favorite Dessert: Red Velvet Cake
Who do you cheer for on game day? Whatever one my husband is going for. Not a big sports person.
Favorite Song or Band: I love so many different genres. Classic rock, pop, country, hip hop, indie rock, etc. It's too tough to just pick one! It also depends on my mood as well. Lately it's been Need a Favor by Jelly Roll
Favorite Movie: The Entire Lord of the Rings/Hobbit Series
Favorite Flower: Tulips
Favorite thing about teaching: The ah-ha moments and increase in self esteem after a child tells me they can't do something and we work together to help them be successful.
What is your favorite morning beverage? Vanilla Coffee with Almond Milk

Welcome to the Spicewood Elementary PTA! Our PTA is a group of parents, caregivers, teachers, school staff, and community members who have joined together with the shared goals of advocacy, family engagement, programming for kids, and support for our school.
The Spicewood PTA was formed:
- To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, and throughout the community;
- To raise the standards of home life;
- To advocate for laws that further the education, physical and mental health, welfare, and safety of children and youth;
- To promote the collaboration and engagement of families and educators in the education of children and youth;
- To engage the public in united efforts to secure the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and social well-being of all children and youth; and
- To advocate for fiscal responsibility regarding public tax dollars in public education funding
We value collaboration, commitment, diversity, respect, and accountability. However, we cannot do this alone. The Spicewood Community needs involvement from all families in order to best support our children. Whether you choose to volunteer in a classroom, assist with an event, become a Panther Partner, or simply join as a member, you are doing your part to make Spicewood Elementary the BEST environment for growth.
